Ever think about writing your own short story, poem, or novel?

Need some ideas for your winter reading list?

Want to write a piece for a newspaper, online magazine or other publication but have no idea where to begin?

Come check out the ARGS Fourth Annual Writer’s Festival

Local and visiting writers will give talks, read their work, and inspire budding writers as well as lovers of the written word.

 

Don’t miss our famous used book sale (all kinds!  all books a buck!)

plus our wide assortment of homemade cookies, breads, muffins, pies, cakes, and other goodies. 

Come down to 512 W. Washington ST., Petersburg, VA, get a cup of cocoa and mingle with a great crowd!  

All proceeds benefit the ARGS Literary Arts Department.

Graphic Novel Workshop by Michaux Dempster—first 15 welcome!  (Room 304) It’s not a comic book.  It’s not “just” a novel.  What exactly IS a graphic novel? Come and find out!

Liz Hodges / Connie Biewald / Nathan Long (Art Foyer) Coffee Talk  on the writing process and inspiration Grab a cup of coffee, cocoa, or a cold drink and listen to several authors speak about their process of writing and how they came to be where they are—all welcome!  

 

4:45 to 6:00  What can you do with a degree in writing?  What can you do with a love of writing? Come explore some options!  (Library)
